Every day on the drive to my studio, I’d pass this 1970s Chevrolet Camaro. It sat on a quiet lot, flanked by a few other decaying relics, slowly losing its battle with the elements. For years, it was a landmark in my commute. This series pays homage to a once-sought-after design beauty and a young boys dream.
A mixed-media work that merges the photographic detail of a 1970s-era Chevrolet Camaro with sketched elements and vibrant color play. The detail reveals the memorable lines of this classic automobile. “Camaro” explores nostalgia, materiality, and the boundary where representation transitions to abstraction.
